Little Foot Team

Debbie Main
Nursery Manager

My name is Debbie Main and I am the Nursery Manager. Little Foot is my baby, and as with my other two children and grandchildren I am totally dedicated to it and I want it to grow and be the very best it can be.

I know this takes time, patience and continual improvement, and I feel very lucky to have the support of a fantastic team all playing their part in their own unique way to help. Together we are here to answer any questions and hopefully relieve any fears or concerns you may have about choosing or starting to use a Nursery.

I feel that many things have played a part in helping to get the nursery off on the right step - my enthusiastic, caring personality; along side my 20+ years of knowledge and experience in childcare.

We love to meet new families and share with them our passion for excellent childcare and development, so come along and have a look around and meet the team.

I really look forward to meeting you!

As well as  Nursery Manager, I am also the Child Protection Officer and Behaviour Co-ordinator.

My qualifications include:
•   BA Early Years
•   NVQ level 4 certificate in managing quality standards in childcare
My portfolio is on-site at the nursery, so please feel free to have a look when visiting us.

About Us

Quality childcare is dependent on quality staff and we firmly believe in recruiting and training the very best. We are committed to fostering happy, skilled, passionate and loyal nursery teams in working environments where they can attain their full potential – ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of childcare provision.

The majority of our Nursery Practitioners are trained to at least Level 3 in Early Years Education & Childcare. We do also have 5 staff with Degree Level qualifications. We have a very high qualified to unqualified staff ratio which far exceeds that of OFSTED requirements.  We have Nursery Assistants at Level 2. We also have a designated SENCO officer who has been with us for many years, she works closely with many outside agencies to help the children who have additional needs.  In addition, we support learning throughout the nursery and all staff are given the opportunity to use our in house training programme to help improve their knowledge and skills. We are very fortunate to have a wide age range of staff our youngest being 20 and eldest being 60, many of these staff have been with us since we opened in 2011.

We hold regular staff meetings and in house training sessions (delivered by external trainers) ensuring staff are kept up to date with latest developments in childcare as well as re-visiting of our policies on childcare.

We are committed to providing a safe environment for our children so all staff are fully vetted and have an enhanced DBS check before becoming a permanent member of staff.
